Abandoned House Adventures

Exploring abandoned structures is one of my favorite pastimes. I find it interesting what people have left behind and the story their deserted belongings create in my mind. I wonder where the occupants went, why they left and how they lived. I like to imagine what the houses looked like in their prime, where the furniture was, what the people cooked, how the house smelt and sounded when it was occupied. Below are some photos from one of my recent finds and my little explorer in training as well.

Carolina Beach State Park

Stopped by Carolina Beach State Park while we were in town and got a few shots. We plan on doing a family camping trip there sometime this year to enjoy the scenery and relax. There are plenty of walking trails and lots of wild life to observe. I can't wait to get back out there with my camera. There are also some newly built cabins available for rent now, which may be a better option for our kids. If you haven't already and are ever in the area, check it out!

Bright and Early Shooting

Here are a couple shots I took during our family outing to Wilmington the other day. We stopped at Rock Arch Rapids Lock and Dam 1 to catch the sunrise and check out the Cape Fear River.
