Surprise Proposal During Photoshoot

My brother and I unknowingly planned the perfect weekend to visit home. He planned to propose to Tiffany at a local nature spot and I had come to do a photo shoot nearby. When we realized we were both in town we came together with a plan. What Tiffany thought was a normal couple's shoot turned out to be a surprise marriage proposal. She had no idea what Zack had up his sleeve. Literally, he had the ring up his sleeve! Congrats, Tiffany and Zack! I'm honored to be part of this special day.

Birds of a Feather...

Lily and I had an amazing experience the other day while venturing through the woods. We took a trail that we usually bypass and came across the largest flock of black birds I've ever seen. I heard the birds chirping and a few geese off in the distance and wanted to see if I could sneak up on them. I knew there was a body of water just at the end of the trail so we headed that way. As we approached the sounds became way more voluminous than I expected. It was all anyone could hear - almost deafening - but so magical and oddly relaxing (although it did feel a bit like an Alfred Hitchcock movie). We got off the golf cart at the end of the trail and hoofed it the rest of the way. The woods were thick and the swampy ground in front of us made it hard to get too close without going for a swim. Lily stood quietly and watched in awe, as did I. I barely took any photos because I wanted to be in the moment instead of watching it all through my lens. My photos do no justice to what we actually witnessed and my words won't either, but here is an idea of what we saw.

There's Something About Abandoned Chairs

With each abandoned place I find, I've noticed single chairs just randomly left behind. So far all of the chairs I've discovered have been some sort of office chair with wheels. People must have something against sitting at a desk around here. Check out my Facebook page to see other photos of abandoned chairs and structures.

Catfishing

A Little Taste Of Spring

In rebuttal of today's snow day, I'm posting Spring. I've enjoyed the warm weather we've had until today and I am in denial that it will be cold anymore this week. Come on Spring! I don't like cold weather. Bring back the 70's and sun.

The Not-so-Itsy-Bitsy Spider

I'm not going to lie, guys. I had to keep my feet up in the chair while editing these photos because I get the "heebie jeebies" just looking at this spider and remembering how close I was to it and how large it was. I just knew it was going to jump up on my face, crawl down my hair and into my shirt. And just as I got it in focus my hair blew in the wind and lightly brushed against my neck and I threw in the towel. I'm pretty sure I'll have spider nightmares forever now. Admittedly, I found it trapped in the dog bowl and it wasn't likely to escape. I set it free after our photo shoot and hoped to never see it again...especially in my house. Eeeeegh.
